Children in the Elementary Program explore subjects through hands-on materials and real-life experiences. The classroom is set up to encourage independence and collaboration. Students choose their work from a range of options, allowing them to move at their own pace and take ownership of their learning. Teachers guide and support, observing each child's progress and offering help when needed.
Over time, children gain confidence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of responsibility. They learn to work together, respect others, and think critically. These skills prepare them for future academic and personal challenges.
The elementary program is based on Montessori philosophy, which values individualized education and self-directed learning. French, art, gym, music, and library classes are offered weekly. The classroom and curriculum are structured to support the Montessori method, with an emphasis on hands-on exploration and independence.
The curriculum includes all required subjects, such as English, math, science, and social studies, and meets state regulations. Subjects are integrated thematically, and students move from experiential learning to abstract understanding. French, Spanish, music, and art are offered weekly. Progress reports are provided in February and June, and conferences can be requested at any time.
